I've been in the process of purchasing my first HGVC timeshare since the end of August. I received news from the broker that we passed ROFR 3 weeks ago today. At the time, I was told by the broker that it would be another 45 days before everything was finalized and I haven't heard from them since.

This afternoon around 4:30 pm, I got an email from Hilton Honors saying that my account was upgraded to silver elite. However, I have not stayed at a Hilton property in more than a year, so it obviously wasn't from that. Could this be the first sign that our deal is completed? I don't remember giving them my Honors number during the paperwork, but I suppose they could have looked me up. Or, could this just be a coincidence and it's just a marketing scheme to get me back to their hotel chain?

I'm pretty sure all new HGVC members get Silver automatically. Let us know what you find out. Thanks

Silver comes with owning a HGVC TS... Gold with the Am-Ex Ascend card.
They likely got notice of your purchase from HGVC.

Call HGVC to ask for your member #... 800-932-4482 (U.S. & Canada).
With that, set up an online account...

Thanks. Maybe it's just bHC purchasers that get Gold?

(We have Diamond from one credit card (Amex Aspire) and Gold from a variety of other credit cards, so I haven't tracked it beyond the Gold, and joint account, we were offered for the W. 57th purchase).

Cheers.

As an update, I called HGVC and asked them about my account. They told me that there is an account in the system, but it is in an inactive status. I asked when the account might become activated and he didn't really have an answer. I'm assuming that the process is near complete, so I'm going to contact the broker tomorrow and check with them on what's happening.

Thanks for all the info!

bHC gets gold and I believe the rest gets silver. Not sure if resale gets any status.

No, "Blue" is the entry level. Silver requires 4 stays for 10 nights/year. As noted, all HGVC members automatically receive Silver status. You need to be the first level of HGVC Elite or own bHC in order to receive Honors Gold status.

Yes, as I said: Silver is one up from entry level. We agree.

The rest has already been established above. Thanks for re-confirmation.

Cheers.

Another update, I received my welcome email into HGVC today. I called and received my account number and have now been able to log it. It looks like the silver elite message was definitely a harbinger of the close!
