I just signed up - I am not fond of shopping, but I need to perk up my wardrobe. I have read a lot of reviews and they are all over the spectrum. I will let you know what I think after I receive my first box.

Curious too if it is good.

Wondered how they make money with free shipping for delivery and returns.....this must covers it, from their website

"At the time your Stylist selects your items, you will be charged a $20 styling fee. That $20 will be applied as a credit toward anything you keep from your shipment."

"Your styling fee can only be applied to a purchase from your current Fix. It doesn’t roll over to your next shipment and isn’t refunded"

Me'thinks I'm too old for such a service. To my eyes, all their "fashion" photos look like dregs from Goodwill. The torn jeans, beat-up jackets and pre-worn look just don't thrill me.

That said ... I made out like a bandit last week at my local Goodwill. I snagged a perfect pair of Wrangler Q-Baby jeans for just $7.49 -- extra long! These are my third pair of Q-Baby and I thought I did well buying at half-price ($25) at a Tack Shop clearance sale last winter! My first pair are worn through (looking a bit like the photos on Stitch-Fix) except that I earned those holes the hard way: moving hay, riding horses, dragging the paddock, working on the tractor, etc.

Hi Rhonda - You fill out a detailed survey, and you can be very specific in your requests, so you don't have to be trendy. I specified NO distressed jeans! But we'll see...

I got one box and stopped the service. Wasn't a good match for me.

The stuff looked cute in the box but when I tried it on it was too big or fit weird.

Note: the jeans are extra long and meant to be hemmed.

I might try again but I kind of doubt it.

I subscribe to Stitch-Fix quarterly. I usually keep 1 of the 5 items they send. Surprisingly items I would not normally choose for myself, but when I try it on, very flattering! And every time I am wearing an item chosen by StitchFix, I receive compliments, so it works for me!

Also keeps me on budget - I don't shop as much knowing that my fix will have something special!

How much are the individual items? It looks like an interesting idea, but I hate returning stuff. I had an online shoe membership for a short while, but found all the shoes to be junky. I'd much rather pay over $100. for shoes I'll have for many years vs. $30 for shoes that last a couple months. I think other people just want new stuff all the time.

I looked at an online clothing membership where all the outfits were meant to be worn and then returned for new outfits. That sounded really cool to me, but they only carried plus sizes. So, I wasn't able to try it out.

You don't know how much the items are until you receive them, but you can choose a range. Based on the reviews, the lowest range is like $38 - $100, depending on the item.

They provide a prepaid bag to return things, so it looks easy.

I decided to try it, too. I hate shopping and everything that I own looks just like everything else --- which makes sense because if I like something, I have tendency to get several, sometimes in different colors.

I do the same thing - I have one top that I like in about 7 colors! :D

I do the same thing. This year I found a cotton tee I liked. After buying one, wearing and washing, I liked it so much I went to multiple stores and ordered online, 10 different colors, 2 of each. I know, a little excessive but quality at a low price.

Me, too!

I have a particular cotton collared blouse with 3/4 length sleeves in White, Pink, Green, Orange, Red, Wine, Black, Blue, etc. I should have purchased at least 5 of the white ... it has been loved to death.

I found a LLBean dress that I love and that I get compliments on every time I wear it....I bought another just like it in another pattern, and my daughter had to talk me down from buying a third or fourth (in yet different patterns.)

I've had friends have great success with StitchFix. It will be great to hear your experiences, Denise.

Will be interested to hear how Stitch Fix works...I've gotten stuck in a rut, too! About twice a year I restock my supply of LL Bean Pima cotton tee shirts...almost all the different styles, but in black! I can't seem to find a retail store that has much I like, that fits me, and doesn't fade after 1 wash! The area where I live has all the national chains but no independent retailers, so the choices are limited. Except for the tshirts, I hate ordering clothes online because of the challenge of fit...but maybe if they make returns really easy it's worth a try! Now off to restock my LL Bean shirts because it's 25% off for Labor Day!

I use it and love it, but only quarterly at most as I usually prefer buying things on sale! Like some have said, it's a mixed bag. Sometimes the "Fixes" are 100% amazing where I kept all 5 items, sometimes 100% terrible (on me, but look good off of me), and sometimes I'll keep 1-2 items. I do love that it's stuff I wouldn't usually even pull off the rack to try on, so it adds flavor to keep my wardrobe from being monotonous. Some even became staples, like a blouse I wear constantly and a necklace that seems to go with everything and a dress that's just perfect for summer parties and casual weddings.
