Lagunamar Large Pool Still Closed

The large Infinity Pool was supposed to be reopened by end of September, but too many rain delays in September. Supposed to reopen on Monday 10/22.

Yet the upper pool is empty, thank goodness

Notice the huge Ferris wheel through the lobby breezeway? Amazing.

It's like watching a highway job - one person working and 6 people watching.

We weren’t exactly fighting for chairs, either. This is the pool deck between the restaurant and the upper pool slide

We like to travel during these off season times to catch the reduced crowds, but this is crazy. They had a ping-pong competition with good prizes today, and only 1 person signed up! She won!

I never thought I'd see this big pool empty. It's like the main attraction here. But, no big deal - they have so many things going on and we are having a good time. The tequila tasting up at the JW Marriott last night was AWESOME! And free!

Is it free because you are staying at WLR and the Westin is now part of Marriott? Or is it just open to everyone?

It's free because they expect you to buy their custom made tequilas or their JEWELRY! This JW has a HUGE vault of precious jems - entire cases of rubies, emeralds, saphires, and diamonds. Yes, the tequila is free, but bring your PLATINUM card!

POOL INFORMATION: AUGUST 15, 2018 – OCTOBER 30TH, 2018

From August 15, 2018 to October 30th, 2018, the main infinity pool will be closed for resurfacing.

During this time, the second infinity pool along with the upper deck pool and children’s pool will be available for your enjoyment.

Beachfront lounge chairs and food and beverage service beachside and at the pools remain available. Please contact the resort for additional information.
So it may or may not happen in the next few days, I am determined to enjoy the vacation regardless.

Have no fears. The upper pool has a light load and there are lounges everywhere. The place is pretty empty.
