Save them, extend them (if already saved from prior year) or give to another points owner.
Or just use them... I often catch last minute discounted reservations for under 9k points (for a full week).

We have TPUs. For our P&P week which gives 39 of them, I ended up w/9 left after trading to an English 'cottage' last month and Wapato Pt for April of '18. These 9 will expire as of 6/30 and I hate giving RCI more $$ to combine and then not get trades I really want anyway. I used the RCI feature that allows for a specific deposit to be used in searching and found a studio at Bethel Inn ME for exactly 9 TPUs for the week of 6/22/18, a trade that fits in perfectly with our plans to head to Nova Scotia the following week!
