I inquired on a TUG marketplace listing that was advertised for $1. I emailed a couple times through the marketplace(no response) then called the phone number that was listed. An older woman answered(told me they are in their 70's that their kids(40's) are not interested in the TS) and we talked about their listing. After my questions were answered, (Paid off, MF current, first use year etc) she then said they only listed it for $1 to generate interest. I was nice, told her I understood that she(they) wanted to get something for it, but in my opinion it was only worth a few hundred dollars. We agreed that I would send an email with what she and I had discussed and she would have her husband call me. Didn't receive a phone call, didn't get a response to my email. Ad was deleted from Marketplace/Bargain deals the next day.

Why would you list for $1 in the bargain deals if you expect to recoup any portion of the $15,000? I don't know for sure how much they actually expected to get but she brought up what they paid for it. She said "someone told them to list it like that."

Oh well, I will keep watching the marketplace. :)

Hard to convince many people that something they spent $ 15,000 for is now worth little or nothing. Next they will probably pay an up-front fee to someone who tells them what they want to hear.

I get that, but to post for $1 in bargain deals?

That would make some sense if she were listing on ebay as an auction.

I am in my 70's but not older much just a bit more mature. I can well understand the listing considering the mature age.

If she was listing is for $1 then expecting more for it, she should not be posting it there. Since it has been removed nothing to be done about it.

Sometimes people post an ad, then change their minds. I had a verbal agreement with someone who seeked me out. Was going to exchange weeks with him. When it got close to the exchange time I called him to reconfirm, he casually mentioned he sold his timeshare. He didn’t let me know he wasn’t interested in exchanging. I wound up exchanging thru RCI. It would have been common curtesy to let me know!
