I am a points owner at Manhattan Club which has just been taken over by Bluegreen. I want to end my timeshare relationship. What is the best way to dispose of my ownership?

Is Bluegreen's involvement the reason you want to dispose of the ownership? Or, did you want to do that before Bluegreen entered the picture?

With litigation and all the bad stuff written about Manhattan Club, I think I would be happy that the property was being taken over by a competent, albeit expensive, management company.

"Best way to dispose" is subjective and depends on a lot of things. Most importantly, do you own free and clear or are you still making payments on the purchase?

I own full and clear. The switch is irrelevant . We are moving away from the time share experience to other travel choices and do not want the ongoing cost of a timeshare experience that we are moving away from.

The Manhattan Club has has some of the highest MFs in the business. It's hard to get your vacation time there because the ownership rents prime units out to non owners. The fees associated with a stay are ridiculous.

If I were the OP, I would hang on until BG finishes the deal. Being part of BG gives owners a whole new set of options. I wouldn't sell now. I would wait. It is very hard to sell a Manhattan Club now anyway-- due to the high maintenance fees. I would hope they would come down with new BG ownership making it a more attractive and sellable item.

Just curious, my parents are in a very similar situation to yours. I realize your post was from two years ago, but were you ever able to get out from under your timeshare relationship with Manhattan Club. If so, how?
