Planning to take our 4 and 5 yo grandsons to Legoland for 2 days this summer. Have never been there or at MarBrisa. Friends have stayed at Legoland Hotel and say it is awesome for the kids but don’t know anything about MarBrisa. Advice?

Marbrisa is very spread out and therefore much quieter than the Legoland Hotel. I've stayed are Marbrisa several times. If you want a quieter spot at the end of the day, or you want a kitchen and more space, it is a very good choice.

I haven't stayed at the Legoland Hotel, but I have walked around inside it in the evening and it is very loud. Kids who spent the whole day at Legoland still had lots of energy! It looked awesome and if I had small children, I'd stay there at least once.

If you stay at the Legoland Hotel you can enter the park an hour early, which can be good for some attractions. You also are right there and don't have to worry about parking.
But you can enter through a special back entrance if you stay at MarBrisa so you don't have to pay parking that way either.

You have a chance for an ocean view at MarBrisa and not at Legoland hotel.
MarBrisa has multiple pools and a fitness area and is obviously a timeshare so you can do meals there. They also have in-room laundry which is HUGE for traveling with small children.
Legoland hotel has rooms that are Lego themed and very cute. And I believe you get free buffet breakfast.

You can get a discount at the Legoland hotel if you are a passholder, but beware there are restrictions and blackout dates.
The beware at MarBrisa is the sales presentation.

There is also a new hotel onsite at Legoland - Castle Hotel. It's brand new and is set to open next month.

We are LEGOLAND annual pass holders, and have stayed at Marbrisa multiple times. This is one of the main reasons why I joined HGVC in the first place. We like to have a full kitchen to prepare meals at night and of course the units are much larger than hotel rooms. As mentioned by VegasBella, having in-room laundry is HUGE for us. We typically stay 3-4 days and also visit the water park. But since you are only staying for 2 nights, so not sure if the laundry is critical to you. The back entrance would get you to the "Hideaway" attraction of LEGOLAND. I would recommend to book/request units in Phase II of Marbrisa, which I think is much better than Phase I.

We own at MarBrisa and have stayed there several times. Our kids love going to Legoland through the back entrance from MarBrisa. You can literally walk in or out of Legoland in 2 minutes from this entrance which means you don't have to pay for parking or wait in any lines. Our kids also love the pools and outdoor activities at MarBrisa. In addition to the pools, they have an outdoor pool table, shuffleboard table, ping pong table, a giant connect 4 game, and a good sized playground. There are several planned crafts and other activities that the resort offers everyday throughout the week for kids and adults. In the summer, you can also take a short golf cart ride up to the Sheraton where they have poolside summer movies for kids. MarBrisa guests have free access to the Sheraton pool (open 24 hrs.), spa, and restaurant. So if it were me, I would stay at MarBrisa. It has beautiful rooms and a wonderful laid back atmosphere. Oh, and they also have these wonderful, giant hammocks throughout the pool area that are perfect for relaxing in after a long day at Legoland.

Thanks all for the info.

Looks like MarBrisa is booked for the dates we want to go so decision is made for me. But sounds like MarBrisa is a good option for next time.
