I have been to Marriott Cypress Harbour and it is one my favorite Orlando resorts tied with any Disney resort.

I have never been to Marriott Lakeshore Reserve so I don’t know how to compare it, only seeing others say how great it is.

For those that have been to both, which is your favorite and why?

Cypress Harbour

pros:
lots of activities going on around the resort
multiple pools to choose from
more central Orlando location
standardized room layout (so you know what you're getting)

cons:
resort is big and spread out
the second bedroom is cramped

Lakeshore Reserve

pros:
the jewel of the Orlando Marriotts; complex is newest and designed with a more high-end feel
smaller resort footprint
very nice units
JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton on same property add to the resort feel, pleasant foot path connects all three
pool has two slides
nicer dining choices on site (when you factor in neighbor hotels)

cons:
farther away from Orlando activities
only one pool area
has multiple room configurations and stand alone townhomes which can add confusion to what you are getting if you are exchanging

Cypress is more family oriented. Good food on site. Right next to I4 and around the corner from SeaWorld. In a mostly residential area (believe it or not). Don't confuse the size with something like Grande Vista. Nowhere near that big of a footprint. It is gated, has a great spa and workout room and decent tennis courts.

Lakeshore is more like a condo complex with high end units and is very quiet. As said it is on the grounds of the other two Marriott hotels. Nothing else much nearby in terms of restaurants, shops, and stores.

I love the vibe at Cypress Harbor. Lakeshore units are nicer.

And the final comment is........You can get CH any time on Interval and it is cheap in terms of points on Marriott's Vacation Club site. Lakeshore 2BR units rarely come up on Interval.

The lazy river in Lakeshore makes up for fewer pools in my opinion....
I like both.

I have been to both several times and own at Grande Vista, IMO there is no comparison, Lakeshore is much better, Since the resort was never fully built but the pool/amenities are designed for a full resort the pool is rarely crowded. Small resort with lots of activities, also can use JW pool and lazy river in addition to lakeshore lazy river and the slides at Lakeshore and JW.

I'm staying at both this year, LR in April and CH in July, and I'm and owner at GV. I'll update this thread once I've been to both.
