I know all of us who own Wyndham get tired of the calls from outfits that are NOT Wyndham. Lately I have been getting one from Stephanie in Member Services requesting a call back because of a flag on my account.

Stephanie wants me to call (877)600-5711 and the caller ID on the incoming call from Stephanie comes up as (314)287-3346.

As it turns out, the 314 area code is in Missouri around the general St. Louis area.

The (877) number tracks back to several different companies (one in Ft. Worth, TX) for
Security Alert Services, LLC.

I was thinking if those of us who frequent TUG would post the attempts like this, we might be more aware that nefarious efforts are out there using our Wyndham contact information.

As an aside, it is my understanding that Wyndham claims this information is being harvested from sources in the public domain (outside of Wyndham's ability to control access to the information). This may or may not be true, but either way Wyndham could do more to stop (or put a dent in) efforts like this.

I got several landline phone calls tonight from this (314) 287 3346 number .... I hung up 3 times and the 4th call (inside of 10 minutes) ... I had my phone note it as SPAM. Seems to have ended that problem.

Female caller .... presistant pest.

Thanks Linda - and this is sort of what I am hoping we can accomplish with this thread (a current listing of the nuisance calls)!

It's fun to string them along. Tie them up on the phone for as long as possible. Play with them, get their hopes up thinking they'll score. Screw with them. That's what I do when I get calls like this. They seldom call me again.

My husband likes to answer the phone “FBI Special agent Johnson speaking, how can I help you?”. He normally hears something like “ummmm”. The he adds, “You’ve reached the fraud department. Can I help you?” That normally ends the call pretty quick.
