That was the smoothest flight we have ever had here on Mokulele. No bumps at all. Nice half hour flight and we were at the condo in no time. My wife kept thinking it was so much later but it was only 9:30am. After she rearranged everything the way she likes it, we headed into town.

Before we left Oahu, my wife got the renewal for her car registration on Molokai. She only paid for the three months instead of the 15 months when it got here. So we had to go to the DMV first and we couldn’t believe it but we were in and out in 5 minutes.

Then we went to Paddlers for lunch. I had the Ahi Sandwich and Paddler Fries and my wife had the Fried Saimin Noodles.

Then it was off to the Friendly Market for groceries. It was crowded. It’s not a big store so when there’s a few people in there things get tight. We ran into a FaceBook friend there and talked for a bit. Then we were going to the bakery but a lady was selling different kinds of Banana Bread in front of the market so we bought a few loaves and skipped the bakery.

So we are home now at 2pm all caught up and it’s time to relax. My wife saw her first whale of the season too.

Jeff, I sure don't remember finding as many restaurants as you've mentioned when we visited Molokai.

Jeff, it looks like you've settled in just fine. Are you ever afraid that you'll blink and wake up from the dream?

All the best, Amigo!

Oh, I can find food anywhere. :D

We only eat out at a few places here. Many others are just hole in the wall places that we like to take out and enjoy on our lanai.

Paddler’s is typically our first place we eat when we get here. Really friendly people and a good variety of good food. Plus they are one of our customers at work.

Thank You!! Hope your adventure is going well!!

There are definitely times that it hits me that this is life now. Days like this, when we can be at the condo after a half hour flight. Or sometimes when I’m waiting in traffic coming home from work. And even right now, typing this up in TUG while I am on the lanai in the shade with a perfect breeze coming off the ocean. The smells going through the condo from our tree by the lanai is heavenly.

These are all in the main town, right? We ended up eating dinner most nights at the Molokai Ranch, which isn't there any more. We did come in and eat the the Hotel on Friday night, and we may have had dinner somewhere else in town, but I don't remember where. I just don't remember there being that many choices.

There’s Kualapuu Cookhouse that a few miles out of town and Mana’s Goodz and Grindz is out past WaveCrest a few miles. Hiro’s is a few miles out from town. Paddler’s is by Kaunakakai on the main hwy. Then there’s Molokai Burger and Molokai pizza, Maka’s Corner, the Sundown Deli, the lady there is so nice and we have a good visit with her every trip to get caught up on what’s going on.
Molokai Fish and Shrimp is a Permanent food truck up town and it’s by the Lunch Box, they have good Sandwiches and smoothies. It There are a couple good Food trucks up town too. I know one guy has hot dogs and one has Shave Ice. I almost forgot, All Things Molokai now has Shave Ice and Açaí Bowls and some other healthy option too. There is a couple more that we haven’t gone to yet so we don’t know the names. :)

I have not followed through the whole journey. I have not been to Molokai and I am curious about health care there. Do you need to fly out to Maui or Oahu if you need to go to a major hospital facility?

There is a hospital here and they just did some upgrades to it too. It yes major things would have to be done on Oahu. Not much different to where I lived in Wisconsin. Anything major and we would have to be Med-flighted to Madison about 40 miles away.

We just took a walk around the grounds. Boy, it’s so nice peaceful here. We are going to sleep good tonight.
My wife was really happy to see her car again. :)

Here’s a short video of our flight on Mokulele. We were usually flying over from Maui. So we got some different views this time.

Some of the other owners were up early putting up the Christmas decorations at the Cabana by the pool this morning.

Hiro’s did not disappoint. They had about 12 different types of Poke. Great Food with a great view.

@slip, I wish you and your wife would stop looking so happy all the time! :D

It’s amazing how the pace has just slowed since we have been here and this is definitely our Happy Place.

Today we will be heading over to the West side to check out the waves. I’m sure the swells will be large today. There is a small craft advisory.

Yes, everyone has their own happy place and they are often different. I tried to work on the tan yesterday. I don’t have much of one for living in Hawaii but working puts a damper on that. :)
My wife even sat out in the sun a little yesterday. This morning she went out on the lanai early and started Diamond painting. She’s about 2/3rds done. It may be hard to see but it’s a boat on a sandy beach by the ocean.

We went to the Sundown Deli today for lunch. I had the French Dip special with Minestrone soup and my wife had the Pastrami sandwich. After that we stopped at our property manager and let her know that we want to buy a new refrigerator. Ours has a compressor that is getting pretty noisy so we are just going to get one now.

After that we took a ride to the east side and went to Dixie Maru beach. It’s the most crowed I have ever seen it. There must have been 20 people there including us.

Then we got home and cooked some Steaks, Brats and Cheddarwurts. Great Day!!

Very windy today. First day we have ever had the lanai door closed. We have the top windows open to let the air flow through but that is it. It’s cooler today too, only 82.

I went to Goodz and Grindz to pick up some lunch. My wife wanted to stay home and have a lazy day. They had a special, an Ahi Katsu plate. My wife had to have the Fried Saimin. :)
I had a friend come visit me while I was waiting. :)

They don’t show up very well in the picture but there are a lot of white caps out there toward Maui today.
