I have 3 RCI Accounts:

  • Registry Collection
  • Traditional RCI Account
  • Wyndham Points RCI Account
I have a question regarding exchanging into a Mexico resort that only allows 1 booking every so many years.

Question is:
  • if I book at resort "A" with 1/4 with registry collection (2018).
  • Can I book a 2nd week at the same resort later in 2018 with my traditional RCI account
  • Can I then book a 3rd week at the same resort later in 2018 with my wyndham points RCI account.
Will the resort catch that we are the same people if we use 3 different accounts to book at the mexican resort that only allows a certain number of bookings per year/years?

It depends on what resort you want and how you make reservation. What resort are you talking about?

I have never heard of a person being rejected after receiving a confirmation. Anybody heard different?

did not know if RCI policed where one could book with-in a given year or if the resort did.

here are the restrictions from RCI:

*You can ONLY book up to 2 units per calendar year with no more than 1 unit during HIGH season at ALL Vidanta Properties. *HIGH SEASON* 2017 (Jun30-Aug03; Nov17-Nov23; Dec22-Jan04/2018). 2018 (Jan05-Apr05; Jun29-Aug16; Nov16-Nov22; Dec21-Jan03/2019). 2019 (Jan04-Apr25; Jun28-Aug15; Nov22-Nov28; Dec20-Jan02/2020). *LOW SEASON is considered any other dates along the year.

*Consecutive Weeks: 2 weeks back to back must have same check in day. Guest certificate only if owner/co-owner is not traveling. * Multiple Units: 2 Units within the same week could be confirmed into different Resort ID’s, same region and check in day. 2nd unit must have Guest Certificate. *Close date confirmations made 48 hours prior to arrival will not be accepted.

These are RCI requirements, not Vidanta.
You could use your Wyndham points to book using SFX and avoid RCI for that week.

You mean you deposit Wyndham weeks to SFX then book an exchange with SFX.

I believe current RCI - Vidanta "rule " is one high season & one low season exchange through RCI per calendar year
all Vidanta resorts / brands / locations .

There are TUG members who do additional exchanges by using II and SFX

Yes, I should have been more specific,

With your Grand Luxxe ownership, can you get the weeks you want?

I have wyndham points that were deposited into their RCI account. All of my contracts are points not weeks.

each of these exchanges would be with RCI or registry though 3 diff. accounts.

How will I know if RCI catches that I've exceeded the multiple Vidanta Weeks?

I have 3 Low Season Reservations and 1 Peak Season.

  • 1 low and 1 Peak on 1 account
  • 1 peak on a diff. account.
  • 1 low season Guest on a the third
wondering if/when they could get caught. have confirmations for all.

Typically the 1 in X rules are per account. But to be safe you may want to check with resort.

RCI won’t give you a straight answer at all.

RCI only tracts the 1 in X per account. Most resorts let RCI do 100% of the policing for 1 in X. Vidanta is one of the few resort chains that take the 1 in X rule seriously. RCI can't answer the question because they won't cancel you stay but it is possible that Vidanta will recognize that all of the reservations are from the same individual and originate through RCI and cancel the reservations on their end. If the stays are back to back the chances are more likely. If they are stretched out to multiple stays through the years, I don't think it very likely. If you have the option to put some reservations in your name and some in another person (like your spouse) traveling with you that is on your account so as to not use a guest cert, you may want to do that just in case.
