My grandparents own a floating week Branson - French Quarter. Pay almost $700 per year for 2 bedroom, 2 bath. They are getting too old to use it. They said we can have it. I have so many questions. We do like Branson but would like to also travel to Mexico, Florida, Jamaica. She said something about paying an extra $239 to go elsewhere when we want. Main question is: should we take it over?
Here are my answers assuming we did not have the gifted option:
I'd say we'd visit half the time and trade half the time.
We'd either travel as 2 or as 6 usually.
Prefer school schedule.
We can book 12 months advance.
Can book at least 1 week at a time.
Stars 3-4
Detailed planner.

I’m an HGVC guy. I know nothing about that resort or that system but I will say this.
Pay their maintenance fees this year and go spend a week there. See if you like it. Would you be happy with that as a vacation destination? The $700 in maintenance fees is less than you’d spend on a nice hotel for a week.
The $239 I’m guessing refers to the cost of s trade in RCI if you want to trade your resort to go somewhere else. What you can trade into depends on how many trading points you get for your unit. RCI also offers some cheap last minute cash vacations as well.
I say try it and if you like it and will use it, go for it.

I also am unfamiliar with your resort, but in looking it up, I see it's part of the small Spinnaker Resort system. TUGgers have given your resort an 8.5 rating on a scale of 10 with 17 reviews, so it's a nice place. As Mosescan has said, it trades within RCI which will allow you to visit other places through external trade by paying an external exchange fee. Spinnaker also has resorts in two other locations: Ormond Beach, FL and Hilton Head, SC--so you can likely trade into those resorts without having to pay an exchange fee. Ultimately, I suggest you contact Owner Services for Spinnaker and make sure you have a list of questions prepared so you can learn more about what you would potentially own. Their phone number is 877.842.3201.

You're smart to check things out before accepting your grandparents' offer. And I second Mosescan's advice to go spend a week there. See if you like it, and then make your decision.
