Anyone has EOY with David Walleys resort? I am planning to buy one and wanted to check if I can buy additional time on non-use years (if required) ..

[triennial - points]
Our biennial timeshare weeks suited our needs so well that we gave it away & got a triennial points timeshare to replace it.

Is this a great country or what ?

We just bought another EOY Wyndham contract to increase our even year up to match the points we have in odd years. We always used our odd year points and felt we we short on the even years.

An EOY, was my first resale TS purchase and I'm glad that I purchased the EOY as I did not have as much vacation time back then as I do now, plus its in a location that I love but can not get to every year... I'm a big fan of EOY ownership

I think it depends on what you want in terms of usage. We have 3 fixed weeks every year and we like that because we like using all of them every year. We rarely trade, but they work fine for that also. We just show up- they are within driving distance.. No having to deal with the convoluted exchange processes.

EOY contracts can be great. For example you want to go to Hawaii but not every year. Most of the time you will be paying half of the mfs each year so the bite isnt so much.

If it's a set week or destination that you only want to go to every other year, EOY would do the job. But for some points based systems there are a lot of restrictions. Limited booking window for banked/borrowed points, fees for rolling points forward, use it or lose it like Starwood.....
We absolutely hated our EOY initial purchase of points.

I love my EOY at Coronado Beach Resort. I only wish it was a floating week, but CBR only has fixed weeks (however, I have a good Memorial Day week). I love it for day use. Just park the car, grab the beach gear, and spend half the day at one of the most beautiful beaches in the U.S. Then, have a late lunch at one of the many nearby restaurants. It is also great for getting past the 1-in-4 year rule with RCI for those interested in traveling to the GPR-resorts and getting access to GPX for cheaper exchanges and bonus weeks.
