Hopefully none of this will ever need this or come across anyone that does, but the latest update includes this feature.

In short, in an emergency your phone will call local emergency personal and also others that you have named as an emergency contact. It appears to give them your location. The feature is you can set this in motion without unlocking the phone.

I guess there is value here if one travels extensively. My solution since I am almost always in the Fort Worth Metro area is to have 911 programmed on my Kyocera clam shell so all I have to do to connect with 911 Dispatch is press "2" then "Send". I have tested this a number of times and am always promptly connected.

I discovered this today, when I was having issues with my iPhone X. I inadvertently pressed the button on the right side three times, and that activated zoom, which resulted in a box at the bottom of the phone, which enlarged the letters on the page. I didn’t know what it was, and I didn’t know how to get rid off it. I called my provider and was told that this is for the visually impaired. I was told to go into settings to turn it off.
While I was on the phone with the provider, I happened to press the same button five times and the SOS was activated. Luckily, he explained what this was, and helped me turn it off.
It would be nice if some of these important basics could come as printed material with this phone, rather than having to go to Apple to read the manual.
Pressing the button twice lets you pay a bill with your credit card.
It’s easy to make a mistake.
