Hello Everyone!

I purchased a Las Vegas 7K platinum points package on through Tug a few months ago. I also own a VIP points package I paid for at the completion of a timeshare presentation in Hawaii last year. I’m pretty sure I cannot concert the VIP points to my regular membership package, but I thought I’d ask. Also, should I tell them I’m an owner when I’m required to sit through the presentation in Hawaii when I book the VIP points package, or should I keep that quiet? Any advice would be greatly appreciate.

On my Estoppel, the 2017 Club Dues were $159. I just received a bill for $170. Did the dues go up for everyone? I’m an owner at the Las Vegas Boulevard.

Thanks!
Davide

No worries. Simply tell them that you purchased resale a few months after you purchased the VIP package. That will get you out the door very quickly. What can they do? Take away your VIP stay? Very unlikely because you paid money for it and you were not a resale owner at the time of VIP purchase.

Dues went up to $170.

Also, there is no way to combine your VIP package with your ownership points -- they are two separate things. Just use the VIP package and be done with it.

Not only won't they take away your VIP stay if they know you bought resale, they might even try to sell you another VIP package. We own 6 resale timeshares and the HGVC presentation sales people know it. They always try to sell us a VIP package after we say no to their sales pitch to buy a timeshare from them.

As already pointed out, you won’t be able to book VIP points and regular off the same reservation. But you can book two separate reservations and link a longer stay at a resort.

I purchased a VIP package a while back, and when i went to use them. I was told that the package got me 7 nights in a 2 bedroom of HGVC choice at one of the listed resorts. I could not select a better room for fewer nights, or even if opted for a one bedroom, it was still just seven nights.

In my opinion it was not really 7000 points, it worked more like a 7 night certificate. In the end i was happy enough with the accommodations i received, but its doubtful i would purchase that package again. Actually not really sure they offer it a second time.
