The Westwind and Southwind buildings have been renovated. It does not appear that the other 2 buildings have been yet. New carpet, furnishings, and upgrades to the kitchen and bathrooms. I have written a review, but am including some pics here as well. Sorry, I always forget to take pictures BEFORE unpacking, so our stuff is in the way.

Sorry, I always forget to take pictures BEFORE unpacking, so our stuff is in the way.

My spouse knows that before anything else I get to take pictures. It's a bit of a joke with us.

Pictures are great. We were there last week, may have been the same time as you.? We are always in a rush to get a cart and get in the unit and consequently have few recent pictures of places we have stayed.

Overall I liked the changes, bought it into a modern hotel like look is what we ultimately decided as the style. What did you think of the dining table and chairs.? Thought they were too heavy to move around easily and the height made eating awkward, and the lack of table legs made foot placement problematic. They missed with that aspect. Really couldn't fit that many chairs around the table without blocking access too.

I am sitting at the table now, and the chairs are heavy. The leg placement is awkward..also the tall lamp switch seems kind of fragile. I have concerns about the shutter doors lasting. Children can be rough, and I am glad mine are past the age when I would worry about them playing with the slats. They are lovely, though.

I've often wondered if whoever is the designer for Wyndham picks the furniture out of a catalog or just walks through a showroom and points to stuff. I often find it very hard to believe they actually sit on the chairs, sofas and dining sets to see if they are actually comfortable.

We stayed at the Austin resort right after it opened and no one could get the ice maker to work. A manager came up to check on it. While he was there I asked him to sit on the sofa and see if he could find a comfortable spot that he would want to sit in to watch TV for a an hour or two. I don't have long legs so I often have to put a pillow behind me to be comfortable but even my husband didn't want to sit on the sofa because the angle and height of the back were awkward and the arms were too low for comfort. He tried sitting in several spots and said he didn't care for it. He also said his mother is built like me and would hate the sofa.

If anyone from Wyndham is reading this, please tell your design team that owners want furniture that is comfortable to use. The point of a having a timeshare is after a day of sightseeing or playing at the beach you come back to your unit and have a comfortable place to spend time with family and friends or spend a couple of hours watching TV or reading before bedtime. Stop wasting owners money on furniture that satisfies some designers notion of what appeals visually and is trendy but is a misery to actually use.

And make sure there are kitchen scissors in the units!

I’ll say this is a problem for many resorts especially those trying to be trendy and upscale! We stayed in a brand new resort once that had gorgeous sconces above the sink in the master bath. The problem was that they cast ghastly shadows on your face, making shaving or applying makeup more a matter of guesswork than skill. And I can’t count the number of shower heads we’ve had that sprayed a ring of water on my shoulders and none on my head. I think the designers and their families as well as executives of the resort need to live for a week in a mockup of the units before final approval is granted for the furnishings.
