I will be sure to write a TUG review and also post some videos from the resort. We checked in this afternoon after a long day of traveling. Getting up at 4:00am was rough, but we got to Barbados by 3:00pm. Picking up our rental car was a fairly long process and driving to the resort was a little harrowing. DW does the driving and in Barbados they drive on the left with the steering wheel on the right. We got lost and drove the wrong way and missed our resort, after we turned around and got back on the right path, it wasn't too hard to find.

Checkin was pretty painless. They take you to the lounge/bar area abnd bring everything to you. THey also bring you cold towels and a welcome beverage. So that was a nice touch.

The room is pretty good, but first impressions were not the best. The washer and dryer unit in the room is "out of order". That is a HUGE downer. We called and they don't have any units that they could have moved us to today, but will check to see if we can be moved tomorrow. They will do your laundry complementary, but we don't really want someone else doing our laundry and washing/exchanging towels becomes a challenge also. We will see what they have tomorrow morning. It just means we can't unpack much of anything in the hopes that they can move us.

We walked up toward St Lawrence Gap for dinner and had a pretty good meal at Pronto. So far, Barbados isn't quite what we expected. The ocean on the south coast is brown from sea weed. Something that we had read about on Trip Advisor and it seems to be common this time of year. The good thing is we have a car rental and will get out to explore.

There will be more to come as we are in Barbados for twelve nights.

Here is a video I just put together for the 1BR Ocean Front suite we are staying in.

They ended up switching out the washer/dryer combo unit for one that works. So we didn't have to change units and were able to unpack.

Hope you have a great trip. The room and resort look nice. The water looks a little rough for the Caribbean. Are you on the Atlantic side of the island?

Glad to hear they got you a working washer and dryer!

Looks like there are zero reviews of this resort.

Did you exchange in through II? How did you manage to get 12 days?

The room is fairly nice, though perhaps a little dark. The bedroom is at the back that has a wall against the interior hallway. There are windows, but none that you would really want to leave open to the hall. The patio is fairly large and deep, so not as much light gets in to the actual unit. We are on the south coast, which really isn't swimable and there is a lot of seaweed this time of year, so that is why it is also brown. The Atlantic side is by far the roughest. We drove up the west coast yesterday and the water along there was smooth. We didn't get out anywhere except to stop for groceries. as it was raining off an on during our drive and many beaches were busy because of the weekend. Yesterday was more of a day for my wife to learn to drive on the left with a right hand drive steering wheel. With it being a Sunday, traffic was more reasonable.

Looks like there are zero reviews of this resort.

Yes, there are no reviews on TUG. I will be writing one. There are quite a few on Trip Advisor. We are in Barbados for 12 nights, but only 7 at Ocean Two. We did score this as an II exchange over a year ago. We are staying five nights following this at Silver Sand that we booked through AirBnB.

Yes, I will be sure to get some video from around the resort. We haven't been out to the pool or the beach yet. I did request to have this video added to the resort video link in the reviews. But I will make a more extensive video later that shows the suite along with around the rest of the resort.

Yes, we encountered the Sargassum seaweed a few years back on our trip to Barbados. It was so bad when we visited the Crane Resort, their beach had piles that were six feet high and the workers were using shovels and wheelbarrows to try to dig a path between the pile for guests to get to the water. It also gives off an awful odor as it decays.
Drive up to Brownes Beach past the Hilton. We found it did not get affected by the seaweed. You can also take one of the excursions there to swim with the sea turtles.

Hi. The beaches on the south coast are normally quite swimable, but with the seaweed problem not very pleasant. On the south coast drive to Carlisle Bay, parking area past the Barbados Yacht Club, ocean side. There are several people that rent chairs and umbrellas there. There are also a few good food vans. From the main road, you can also turn left down Aquatic Gap, towards where the Brown Sugar Restaurant and the Hilton are located, drive past the Hilton around a bend in the road to Pebbles Beach, calm ocean, chair vendors available.

I stayed 2 weeks at this beautiful resort in the 1 bdrm Bay View on floor 6, called the Low penthouse floor (LPH) in the unit LPH11A and we were very happy to get this room. The 1 bdrm Bay View is a bigger/nicer unit than the ocean front unit but a less nice view of the ocean since it's only an ocean view. The bedroom is in the back corner of the building so there is window on 2 sides of the room + 1 door to access the balcony on another side. The bedroom can be very light if you open all the curtains. The bathroom is on the back of the building with 2 frosted windows without curtain to let natural light enter the bathroom. The living room is on the side of the building with a nice balcony access (the balcony is a little bit less deeper than the 1 bdrm OF balcony but has a table with 4 chairs because it's part of a 2 bdrm LO).

So, if the view is less important than the unit size to you then the Bay View is the best choice. Otherwise, the Ocean Front is a better choice. In our case, the unit size was more important because we have kids and we got the room we wanted with an high floor.

I visited the 1 bdrm OF and the 2 bdrm LO OF (I will post some pictures of them in another post).

I looked at the temperature setting and the real temperature reported in all room I visited + the room I stayed and all were set at 20C and run non stop and non was able to reach a temperature under 23C inside the room (the bedroom was the warmest in the BV unit with a 24.5C). So, the A/C in all rooms is too weak for rooms size and the external warm temperature of 29C/30C during the day and the 25C/26C during the night.

I can add this info about the resort building (@dioxide45 gave a lot of info about the resort interior/exterior and the 1 bdrm OF here and/or in it's review):

The resort has 13x 2 bdrm LO OF, 50x 1 bdrm OF, 5x 2 bdrm LO BV, 2x 2 bdrm PH OF, a GYM, a Reception, a Bar/Lounge, a Conference Room, a Concierge Lounge, a Restaurant Kitchen+Buffet area spread on 7 floors.
There is 2 elevators, 2 staircases.
There is also a small pool and terrace (only 1 elevator can reach them) and A/C equipment on roof top.

Floor 1: There is 1x 2 bdrm LO OF, 5x 1 bdrm OF, the reception, Bar Lounge, Restaurant Kitchen and Buffet area (restaurant dinning room is outside of the building)
Unit 101 is a 2 bdrm LO OF (corner unit) (A unit is a 1 bdrm OF and B unit is an Hotel Room OV)
Unit 102 to 104 and 107 to 109 are 1 bdrm OF.
There is no unit 105 and 106 because the bar/lounge occupy the area.
There is no unit 110 because the kitchen occupy that area.
There is no unit 111 on floor 1 because the kitchen occupy that area.

Floor 2: There is 2x 2 bdrm LO OF, 8x 1 bdrm OF, Gym
Unit 201 and 210 are a 2 bdrm LO OF (corner unit) (A unit is a 1 bdrm OF and B unit is an Hotel Room OV)
Unit 202 to 209 are 1 bdrm OF
There is no unit 211 on floor 2 because the gym occupy the area.

Floor 3: There is 2x 2 bdrm LO OF, 8x 1 bdrm OF, 1x 2 bdrm Bay View (back corner unit with balcony on the side), Conference Room
Unit 301 and 310 are a 2 bdrm LO OF (corner unit) (A unit is a 1 bdrm OF and B unit is an Hotel Room OV)
Unit 302 to 309 are 1 bdrm OF
Unit 311 is a 2 bdrm LO BV (corner unit) (A unit is a big 1 bdrm BV and B unit is a Deluxe Hotel Room)

Floor 4: There is 2x 2 bdrm LO OF, 8x 1 bdrm OF, 1x 2 bdrm Bay View (back corner unit with balcony on the side), Concierge Lounge
Unit 401 and 410 are a 2 bdrm LO OF (corner unit) (A unit is a 1 bdrm OF and B unit is an Hotel Room OV)
Unit 402 to 409 are 1 bdrm OF
Unit 411 is a 2 bdrm LO BV (corner unit) (A unit is a big 1 bdrm BV and B unit is a Deluxe Hotel Room)

Floor 5: There is 2x 2 bdrm LO OF, 8x 1 bdrm OF, 1x 2 bdrm Bay View (back corner unit with balcony on the side)
Unit 501 and 510 are a 2 bdrm LO OF (corner unit) (A unit is a 1 bdrm OF and B unit is an Hotel Room OV)
Unit 502 to 509 are 1 bdrm OF
Unit 511 is a 2 bdrm LO BV (corner unit) (A unit is a big 1 bdrm BV and B unit is a Deluxe Hotel Room)

Floor LPH (6): There is 2x 2 bdrm LO OF, 6x 1 bdrm OF, 1x 2 bdrm PH, 1x 2 bdrm Bay View (back corner unit with balcony on the side)
Unit LPH1 and LPH10 are a 2 bdrm LO OF (corner unit) (A unit is a 1 bdrm OF and B unit is an Hotel Room OV)
Unit LPH2 to LPH4 and LPH7 to LPH9 are 1 bdrm OF
Unit LPH5 is a 2 bdrm PH OF (occupy the space of 2 one bdrm OF unit (unit 5 and 6 of the others floor))
Unit LPH11 is a 2 bdrm LO BV (corner unit) (A unit is a big 1 bdrm BV and B unit is a Deluxe Hotel Room BV)
There is no unit LPH6 on floor LPH because the 2 bdrm PH OF occupy the area.

Floor PH (7): There is 2x 2 bdrm LO OF, 6x 1 bdrm OF, 1x 2 bdrm PH, 1x 2 bdrm Bay View (back corner unit with balcony on the side)
Unit PH1 and PH10 are a 2 bdrm LO OF (corner unit) (A unit is a 1 bdrm OF and B unit is an Hotel Room OV)
Unit PH2 to PH4 and PH7 to PH9 are 1 bdrm OF
Unit PH5 is a 2 bdrm PH OF (occupy the space of 2 one bdrm OF unit (unit 5 and 6 of the others floor))
Unit PH11 is a 2 bdrm LO BV (corner unit) (A unit is a big 1 bdrm BV and B unit is a Deluxe Hotel Room BV)
There is no unit PH6 on floor PH because the 2 bdrm PH OF occupy the area.

The 2 bdrm PH OF is 1664 sq-ft as per their web site. They removed the wall between the 1 bdrm OF unit 5 and 6 to make the 2 bdrm penthouse unit. So, the 1 bdrm OF is around 1664/2=832 sq-ft.
The one bdrm of the 2 bdrm LO BV is way bigger than the OF version (I don't know the size) with a 2 doors fridge, a wall oven, a wall microwave, a dishwasher, a wine fridge, washer&dryer, a dinning counter for 4, a dinning table for 5 and a table for 4 on the balcony (see below the comparison picture and some pictures of the unit LPH11)
