I don’t feel my ongoing searches in Interval are actually searching for anything. I say this not only because nothing has matched up but because my searches don’t seem to update the dates once the search window has passed.
For example, if I was searching for anything in Maui from December 2018 to April 2019, I would expect the dates to update to the current date whenever I go into the search. But nope, it still shows the start date as December 2018. Wouldn’t the search engine see this as an invalid parameter and therefore not even really “run” the search. I’m not tech savvy so maybe there’s something going on that I don’t realize?
Has anyone else had this happen in their search? Any thoughts?

Not necessarily. Updating the start date showing on the search request is an extra step that isn't necessary. The programming behind the scenes could have a bit of code that essentially says, 'if start date is past, use current date' and then carry on.
If your searches aren't matching, it's more likely an issue of trade power, or there aren't any deposits. You could be too early or the resort you want doesn't deposit the size you want or the season you want etc.

When your search is active, they will call you every so often to offer you an alternative property.

The search works even if the start date has passed.
However, if you make a change to any other parameter (resort code, unit size), you will be forced to update the start date in order to continue and save the request.

What are you searching for?
