We thought for quite a few years that we would like to retire to Hawaii. Instead, we ended up in New Mexico, but still visit Hawaii every year.

That first image, of the two islands in the distance: The taller one is Rabbit Island, and the flatter one is Shark Island. They're named that because the taller one has wild rabbits living on it. And the flatter one is named that because sharks hang around out there. I lived in Kailua as a teenager, and surfed out around there a lot.

I like your view from Makapu'u Point, too. Spent a lot of time bodysurfing just below the lookout there.
