Parking for Bishop Museum?

We’re in the very early stages of planning a trip to Hawaii next July (I know, I know, it’s late, but my 94-year old dad just proposed it yesterday) and haven’t been to the Bishop Museum in over 15 years. How is parking there? Not sure yet where we’d stay for 3-4 nights on Oahu.

I’ve thought of another question. Is there public transportation from the downtown Honolulu hotels to the Bishop? We’re contemplating staying there vs. in Ko ‘Olina.

Yes, you could take a city bus to the Bishop, but it’s uptown from the main downtown business district. Might be faster to take an Uber or taxi.

Slip, I know you have a car; the parking there should be fine. Why are you doing Uber? We have only been there by BUS. I takes about 45 minutes but that is fine for free. We also like going to Helena's Hawaiian Food after we go to the Bishop Museum which is known for the best in Honolulu. We love the Kalua Pig there. Helena's is the BUS stop before the Museum Bus stop or a couple block walk on School Street from the Museum Bus Stop. I know your wife has problems walking but if you have your car you can drive there.

With your 94 year old Father I would take your Car if you have one, the parking is $5 dollars but I bet that the cab or Uber is around $20. Round Trip with Tip I would budget $50.

Nope, just want to relax. We have coupons and it’s hardly costing anything to Uber there.
