Sharing a "breach" of information by MVC (specifically by Ocean Pointe). We sent the following email this morning (4/12/19) to MVCI Customer Care.
"Good morning.
Since I’ve not heard back from a phone call & email placed with Owner Services yesterday, I am sending this email requesting timely and exact explanation/information be provided on the reported issue.
We received a “Plan Your Vacation Now” email from Ocean Pointe; the greeting was addressed to XXXXXX. There is no one at this email address with the name of XXXXX. By clicking on the link in the MVC email, we were able to see XXXXX’s reservation number and her Rewards number. We were also able to access XXXXX’s reservation in the Marriott reservation system, which additionally provided us with her email address. As an added concern, this reservation contains one of OUR phone numbers.
We want a detailed explanation of how the MVC reservation system transmitted someone else’s reservation information to our email address, which allowed us access to that person's reservation, their rewards number and the person’s email address.
