Planning on Purchasing a Sheraton Vistana Resale for the Star Options

I am looking to acquire a significant number of star options by purchasing some resale weeks at Sheraton Vistana. I have read quite a few threads, but just wanting to confirm that I shouldn't have a concern if I am purchasing mandatory deeds that include the right to transfer the star options? Is there a possibility that future changes could eliminate the ability to use the star options to trade into the VSN??

I am really purchasing these to trade into other resorts in the VSN, so I wouldn't want to become stuck with a bunch of star options that I could only use at the Sheraton Vistana, as I don't see myself ever staying at that resort.

Am I making a wise decision?? Thanks.

If we could all predict the future, we would all be rich! We purchased several SVV weeks just for the StarOptions. We of course don't know what may happen down the road. What happens to VSN if Vistana or ILG is acquired by another timeshare entity. As long as there is a VSN program in some form, the weeks are mandatory and would be included in the program. There is just no knowing what form the program could take down the road.

I would heed dioxide45's advice. We own a Westin Kaanapali on purpose because we want to stay where we own with the oceanfront view. I have heard if you are okay with off season and the less popular resorts, then buying StarOptions can be okay. I am new to timeshares but I am noticing all the prominent timeshare developers are tightening up.
