While Hyatt, Marriott and Vistana have different heritage's, they're all in "one big family" now. Having them all under one umbrella is an opportunity to create a TS "dream team", it would be silly/stupid for them to miss the opportunity. (Hard to imagine that Marriott said "Let's buy ILG and keep everything the same".)

A friend of mine who also recently put in an offer for Hyatt pointed out to me that: Marriott doesn't own the Hyatt name. As all HRC literature states, Hyatt reserves the right to the brand name and has the right to retract the branding rights at any time. FURTHER, everything about the supposed lovely marriage of MVC and HRC is coming from THIRD PARTIES and not from either Marriott or Hyatt.

And don't confuse folks posting to Marriott-related blogs as an official source either. An interesting link from another friend (and one of the only direct-from-Marriott news around):

www . marriottvacationclub.com /owners/ilg-acquisition/

Zero mention of Hyatt.

Both of these things have been discussed here. You can read through past posts.

By the way, who is saying it is a lovely marriage? II bought Hyatt, Marriott bought II. Anything can happen, however, you don’t buy something really expensive to break it. Neither did Marriott. The Hyatt name may change (probably will), but that does not remove your right as a weeks owner to use a great property in a great location. A rose by another name is still a rose.

That's what I'm hoping for... Just don't want to see these end up as independents.
