If you have specific needs then it will be best to buy at that resort so you can use the Home Season booking window. /QUOTE]

But only if you're going to be staying for a week. Even with specific needs, if your trips are not that long, then Home Resort won't help.

Cheers.

Just my 2 cents, but timeshare exchanges work best if you are not tied to a specific location for a specific date. Flexibility is everything. If you have specific needs then it will be best to buy at that resort so you can use the Home Season booking window. This will cost you more in MF's, but it will still likely be a ton less than booking that resort through a travel agent.

That is an excellent point. The cost of booking comparable 3BR condos in Breckenridge in March (the peak of Spring Break vacations) could easily run $4-5K per week. When you take that into consideration, paying a premium for a Valdoro, Grand Timber, Marriott, Hyatt or other good-location, high-quality 3BR fixed weeks could still be a good value play.

Well now I am convinced that if I do want the specific time and this specific place I will need to be on the lookout for the exact weeks I want in the 3 bedroom, and they will be hard to come by I am sure. Thanks for everyone's input, I have learned even more as I am sure I will continue to learn, like realizing a 2 bedroom and a 2 bedroom plus have the same MF's but one has 7000 points and one has 8400 points. Yet another level to consider.
