RCI and Edge Browser.....make the switch.

As others have mentioned the RCI site is terrible. Slow, pages don't load, etc. Aggravated this morning I sent them a chat and received this reply.

We regret the difficulty you have encountered with our website. The site was designed with the most common browser types in mind. Preferred browsers for our site include Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer or Safari. Technical staff is aware of problems when accessing RCI.com<http://rci.com/> with the Edge browser. We recommend using another browser or calling a Vacation Guide at 800-338-7777 for Weeks members or 1-877-968-7476 for Points members for further assistance. Live Help Specialists are also available to Live Chat.


I was using Edge....I downloaded Firefox this morning and made a world of difference! Try it if you are having the same issues.

No... they're slowed down by the FAT that they add to your search results.
They offer a bunch of mid-week single night stays. (When you add up the cleaning fee, exchange fee and points, it's a joke.)
They've contracted with a bunch of hotels to offer psuedo-inventory. It's in RCI's exchange system, but it's worse than a cruise exchange. You pay exorbitant points prices, and you pay a full week's exchange price AND to insult your intelligence even further, you get to pay for a cleaning fee... all for a 3 night hotel stays that you can pick up for a fraction of the cost on hotels.com.
And why do they do this? To fatten up their search results... RCI has to be losing inventory to their competitors, and I'll bet contracts with mini-systems are not panning out the way they once thought.
Interfacing with hotel inventory is what's really slowing things down. (And it's just a political move by RCI.)
