RCI Getaways 2bdrm?

We just became TS owners but will not begin usage until 2020. I noticed many Western getaways are 1bdrm for occupancy of 4. We are a family of 7 but haven’t seen many deals for 2bdrms. Are getaways normally just 1 bdrm?

Most that we've seen are 1BR & smaller (e.g. studio, hotel unit), with 2BR showing up now & then.

Last time we spied a nice 2BR unit among the special getaway offerings for a time & location we like, we grabbed it up quick.

I have snagged a few 2 bedroom (& one 3 bedroom) units on RCI's Extra Vacations but I booked many months in advance. I always look right at the beginning of a sale (ie; during first hour) because the bigger units always get taken first. I have seen the occasional 2 bedroom on Last Call but it is usually for an off peak time and never a high demand area. If I am looking for something in particular I wait until after midnight to search thinking units are put into the system after the offices close. I know it probably isn't true but that's when I've had the best luck.

Not sure if you are looking at the Last Call weeks or the Sale weeks but keep watching. RCI has different sales throughout the year. Some are better than others when it comes to the price, how far out the dates go, and the amount of inventory in the sale weeks. Are you an RCI points owner or a weeks owner? If you have a points account you can borrow points from the 2020 use year.

RCI Extra Vacations availability will vary based on location/resort.

Resorts will provide weeks for Extra Vacations at varies time throughout the year. The Extra Vacation weeks might become available years, months, weeks or days in advance.

Some timeshare resorts/locations will have lots of weeks available for cash rentals and some will have very few to none. Over populated timeshare areas tend to have lots of availability (for example take a look at Orlando).

We can and like to travel at non peak times. 2 bedrooms are there. Much less common than smaller units but can be found. Our last 4 getaways have been in 2 bedrooms twice so we could invite others. If your kids lock you to their school schedule it will be real hard. Prime times are hard to get any unit. Keep vigilante and some will pop up.

Luckily my children are young so missing a week or so isn’t an issue.

I see that you own a HGVC week. If you’re viewing RCI via HGVC’s web portal, you’ll only have online access to RCI’s Last Call inventory. Last Call Vacations are last minute getaways that are available to confirm within 45 days of check-in. They are basically the leftovers.

HGVC doesn’t provide their owners with online access to RCI Extra Vacations. HGVC members have to call to book RCI Extra Vacations. These week can be available as early as two years in advance. Extra Vacation availability will vary by resort.

You’ll have online access to II Getaways via your Westin ownership.
