[RCI] Late Deposit ?

I have a week 50 at Mountainside Resort in Stowe that I will be closing on in a few weeks.

Is there a chance that I may be able to exchange this?

If I do deposit into RCI and can't get something, can I take the deposit back and just go to the resort in December?

This will be my first timeshare so I'm extremely new to this whole game!

This board is fabulous thougth with the wealth of info!!!

I would like to go to Diamond Caverns in Kentucky in August.. Does anyone think I have a chance at the exchange?

I can't answer your resort specific questions, but for a good intro. to RCI - see the link at the top of the Exchanging Board.

Whether or not you can get your week back depends on whether someone has exchanged for it or not - I wouldn't count on it. It's best to consider your week out of your control, once you deposit it.

Also, with exchanging it's rather like gambling, so you will be more successful if you are as flexible as possible. Limiting your choices to one week, at one resort, during the popular summer season, is likely to have a disappointing outcome.

When we purchased our ts (2 years ago) we closed about 2 weeks before the week we purchased (2nd week of Sept). I called that same day, joined RCI, deposited my week, and exchanged it for a week off-site at Disney.
