Renting a week from another member I found on the marketplace ads here on TUG. It's is not his home resort but an exchange week from II and he says he can just change the name on the certificate. Is that accurate? Does II allow him to do that? Thanks in advance for any help.

Renting II exchanges is forbidden by II. If this person gets caught renting exchanges, you will have to deal with losing your money. Certainly one exchange rental is not going to sound an alarm at II, but if this particular person is renting multiple weeks per year, adding a lot of guest certificates, II could be watching the account, and then of course you could lose every dime you pay.

Exactly what Cindy said. A few years ago II suspended my account on suspicion of renting an exchange. I wasnt, but it took several days to get it straightened out. Each Guest Certificate also has wording that prohibits renting.
