Hi
An owner of GL NV told me that the roof top pools in Residence Tower and Tower 5 (which I believe is the Loft Tower?) are accessible by residents staying in those towers only.

Is that correct?

So If I stay in one of the other towers I cannot use the roof top pools?

What are the roof pools like? Staying there next year and looking forward to it!

Thanks in advance

That is my understanding based upon discussions with the sales staff there this month. I do own in tower 5, but haven’t stayed there yet; it was closed this month for completion of construction of the “B” building, so haven’t seen the pool or restaurant on the roof yet. There were some pictures in the latest Vidanta Traveler, though, and it looks nice.

We had lunch on the top and walked around the pool. The view is spectacular of the grounds - especially for a golfer. It is worth having lunch there just for the view.

That said, the pool food wasn't any better than other pool food - certainly not as good as Blue Fish. The pool itself was nice but no nicer than any of the other GL or GB pools and much more contained. Certainly, if I was staying in bldg 5, I would use the pool for convenience - but no way would take the trek from another building just to use the pool. So the fact that it is building specific is irrelevant except for the novelty.

Hello
Hoping someone can help me. I'm really struggling with understanding the buildings in the resort. I'm booked in a 4 bedroom, which I assume has to be a Residence. The map on GL website doesn't show a Tower 5, but instead shows a Tower labeled as the Residences with a #5 on it. Now I see mention of Tower 5 B. Is there a better map somewhere that shows this clearly? Just trying to understand which building I will be staying in.
Also, does anyone know if construction is finally finished. I haven't stayed at GL in about 5 years, and of course it was heavy construction at that time.
Thanks in advance for the help.

The attached file (from Vidanta's website) shows the Residence Tower, but not Tower 5. Tower 5 is north of Residence Tower.

All 4BRs are in the Residence Tower (located between towers 4 and 5). The Golf Pro shop is at the base of this building. There is a pool (or 2) on top of it as well. We had a two-week stay in Tower 4 (3BR Spa) that ended this past Saturday. During our stay, Residence Tower occupants were issued a band with a yellowish/goldish tag (which is how they know who is allowed in the building/pool). For the other Luxxe towers, GL exchangers are issued a gray tag while owners are issued a brown tag. I presume there is a different color for Tower 5 which is used to determine who can use the pool. The pool on top of Tower 5 is restricted to Tower 5 and Residence Tower occupants.

[Edit to answer additional questions]: There is another "tower" under construction right beside the completed portion of Tower 5 (presume it'll be similar in design as Tower 3 and 4 where it's, in essence, two towers but labeled as one. They completed a 10-hole par 3 course on the side of towers 3 and 4. I don't think construction will end any time soon (ever?) since they are still building the Cirque theme park(s).

Bob, the Residence is #5 which is in a red circle. The 5B I believe you are referring to is actually the number 58 in an orange circle and is the location of the Sky Bar and Lounge...

Ok, thank you very much for the replies. However I think you are both conflicting each other a little, unless I am just confused. I think we can agree that Tower #5 is not on the map. Would it be where the purple 79 is on the map?
Nitemaire says 5B, which is under construction is next to Tower 5 somewhere.
Sunshine says 5B is 58 in the orange circle, but that is actually part of the residence tower.

Which is it? :)
Do you think I can expect construction noise while staying in the residence tower?
Thanks again

79 is the spa. Tower 5 is northeast of the spa and north of Residence Tower.

We did not conflict...we were talking different things.

To clarify: I didn't say "5B"; I said they are building another tower immediately to side of Tower 5 (don't know how they will label it).
On a related note, looking at the map in your link, the number on the residence tower is definitely an orange 58 (bar/restaurant), not 5B. The map is confusing since Residence Club is listed as (Hotel) "5" which should not taken to be "Tower 5". "Hotel" 5 on the map is definitely Residence Tower...I drooled over it as I swam in the pool next to Tower 4 :)

Hope this clarifies.

Tower 5 is not on the map yet, but is north of the Grand Luxxe Residence tower, which is #5 on the map. 58 is a restaurant at the top of that tower. That one is all 4BR Residence units, 4 to a floor with individual elevators.

Tower 5 is comprised of 5A, which is complete, and 5B, which is under construction. There is a pool on the roof of 5A as well as the restaurant Quinto. Tower 5 is all Luxxe studio lofts on floors 1-7 and 1BR lofts on the 8th (& 9th) floor. The 1BR lofts are the ones that are 2 levels, similar to the 2BR & 3BR lofts.

That's great info, thank you. Last question hopefully. So if Tower 5 is North of the Residences, is it safe to say that the rooms on the north side of the Residence building looks right at Tower 5? So those rooms essentially look at construction? Just trying to prepare myself for the likely view.

I think it was a bit to the west of due north. In any case 5A, which is complete, is the southern part of tower 5, and the construction is on 5B, to the north. It shouldn’t be taking up too much of the view.

I was told the 4BR stretch across the building from North to South (2BRs on the North side, and 2BRs on the South side). Each floor contains 2 4BRs. In essence cut the building down the middle and your 4BR takes up the entire East or West side. So on the South side you'll have a view looking over the pool near Tower 4 and you'll see Tower 5 on the North side. The completed portion of Tower 5 is closest to Residence Tower, so I don't think it'll be a problem.

And Eric is correct, it's not due North...

Also, the 4BR units run the width of that tower from south to north, with 2 terraces. I believe the north side is all BRs, with the south side being more shared parts of the units. Haven’t stayed in one yet, but that’s what I was told. Given that, it probably won’t bother you much.

Floor plans are available at http://www.vidanta.com/en/resort-hotels/grand-luxxe/nuevo-vallarta/accommodations. I took a look again at the 4BR one, 3 of the BR are at one end and the MBR and kitchen/dining area are at the other, where there is a large deck. I stayed in tower 4 last month and had a view of the south side of the residence tower and saw the large decks on that side, which faces away from tower 5 and towards the beach/ocean. Yoiu should have no view issues.
