I know whenever I stay at a resort, they ask me if I want to attend a presentation. My answer is usually yes. The only time I decline is if I'm out with my buddies.

Lately, with the pre-bookings, you're provided your gift upon check-in, whether points, experience dollars, or gift card. Has anyone attended a presentation on their own?

What happens if you schedule an appointment, but then your spouse backs out at the last minute? Do you still attend or just cancel? Do you show up solo?

I've thought about testing this on my next guys trip to Vegas. Schedule the presentation, but just attend solo. They're not required to provide the gift, but I wonder if they still will, since it's already booked and scheduled. It's not like they'll have something lined up for the sales person.

Thoughts or experiences?

I tried that with Hyatt at Pinon Pointe when my husband was under the weather and wanted to rest in the room. They said I could attend and not be gifted or I could cancel, which I then cancelled.

When you pick up your vouchers it's attached to your room and they will charge them to your room is my understanding, I don't recall leaving a CC guarantee directly. You sign for them attesting to the risk and commitment though I didn't read the specifics closely. It's great that they give you the option though as it gives you more of a chance to use the gifts. My guess is they will not only charge you if you've used them (or take them back if not) and cancel your tour as well so you would have wasted your time and theirs.

I don't know of any national wedding database. Just tell them you are "no longer with your wife."

My wife did that one time in vegas, said we were separated, and that did the presentation no problem.

I’d have said, he’s got a fever and cough, but I’m happy to have you do the presentation in our room so he can attend. Your choice.

It sounds like they gave them a choice but they would not have gifted them without both attending regardless which is my understanding. That they gave them the choice to continue ungifted rather than cancel is better than is often the case.
