Samuel Adams Utopias

https://chicago.suntimes.com/taste/...s-utopias-beer-illegal-15-states-extreme-beer

"The beer, called Utopias, has 28 percent alcohol by volume (ABV) and began its limited release Tuesday in select beer and specialty stores (including Illinois and Indiana) for a suggested retail price of $210 per bottle."

"Because of its high alcohol level, Utopias is not shipped to or sold in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Utah, Vermont or West Virginia."

I think I'll just stay with Coors :ponder:

No, I wouldn't pay that much. But I wouldn't drink Coors either. :)

Even as a beer nerd I would not. I think most bottles are bought as a tasting bottle. Bars will give a small taste for a more affordable price. That I might consider since I do like the base beer. But then I am thrifty.

Too rich for my blood but I’m not slumming it with coors either. Where I live they switched to 10 ounce cans.

In our area it is all 16 oz cans of big beers. I wish they would go to 10 oz as I usually do not want a pounder of 9% beer at one sitting.

I would pay $210 per bottle only if Samuel Adams was there to share it with me.

(and I'll be waiting for him to join me, not the reverse.)

Along the same lines:

Very interesting..... The most expensive wines in the world....

No way would I pay that for a bottle of beer; unless I just hit the lottery for 100 million dollars.

I remember buying a bottle of Triple Bock when they first released it back in the mid-90s, and almost balking are that because it was over $20 for a little bottle. No way I would pay that for a single bottle of anything.

One beer for $210 or 105 craft beers for $210? That's an easy answer for me.

There are a LOT of really good beers now. Lemme see, a case of Pliny the Elder (winner of Best Beer in America by Beer Advocate) or one Sam Adams Utopia. No contest. I can make a dozen good friends VERY happy or one guy poorer. I'm going with my friends.
