I was wondering if you guys could help me out?

I have had some issues in the past with certain resorts not showing up for me. Well I am trying to do an exchange search for:

anything on Sanibel Island in Florida but there is nothing showing up.

Can you guys do a search to see if you get the same results?

No specific dates...I did a search from now until this time next year.

Thank you

This is better asked in the Sightings forum if you want specific information about available units/weeks.

I love Sanibel and Captiva, but they are notoriously tough to trade into. I can't see anything available in Interval or RCI for the next two years.

Agreed. Last night, I saw Sanibel setting online in RCI for Nov 17, 2017 check-in. You might see a last minute exchange every now and then, but even that's rare. You will need an Ongoing Search for Sanibel.

We own at Sanibel Beach Club. We spoke to a lady from England who said she bought there because she couldn't get an exchange. Our impression is there are very few exchanges. The property rents easily. Why exchange when you can make more than the MF renting? From discussions with owners of other timeshares on Sanibel and Captiva, we believe that renting is quite prevalent across all properties.

We have seen Sanibel Beach Club appear for exchange at TPI. Usually within 6 weeks or so of occupancy. Sometimes longer. You may want to give it a try.

This edit is to report that there is a Sanibel Beach Club for exchange at TPI right now. Dec 02, 2017 - Dec 09, 2017.

I am a huge Sanibel fan. You can pull Sanibel on an ogs and sometimes instant here and there. You will likely never ever get Sanibel in the spring but the summer and fall is doable.

The problem with Sanibel is there can’t be any big resorts and there is very limited space with the protections on the island. This keeps the unit count extremely low.

I check Sanibel on a daily basis and it usually pops up once every several weeks. Sometimes a month or more with no sightings.

If you want Sanibel regularly it is better to buy a unit there. If you want it onnce or twice in the spring or a specific week or resort then renting or booking at the resort is the best method. There aren’t enough units deposited in II to satisfy demand.
