We have a couple of computers and printers/scanners.

With our older Epson the scanning is not as accurate
as it should be, so today for the first time I tried scanning
from a Brother HL-2280 DW wireless printer/scanner to
our Windows XL PC . To my surprise - It worked perfectly.
(Next I will see if I can get it to work with Windows 10)

Instructions

Turn on Scanner
Lift top and place document on glass
Close
Press scan to PC
Hit OK

Turn on Computer
Go to Start menu (bottom left)
Click on the (green) start button
Go up to Programs
Click and then slide right to Accessories

Select Scanner and Camera Wizard

Optional: If you want to create a shortcut
Click send to Desktop to make an icon

Open the Scanner Program

You should see Welcome to the
Scanner and Camera Wizard
It should show you the name
of your scanner. Click Next

A new screen with come up where
you Choose Scanning Preferences

Select Color, Black and White, Other
Click Preview and wait for it to scan

The document should appear
on your computer monitor
There is an option to resize

Click Next

Select a name and destination folder
in your computer for your document

1. Type a name for this group of images
2. Select a file format ( JPEG )
3. Choose a place to save this group of images
Click on browse to select a place to store images

Note: You may need to create a new folder
for the images on your Windows computer

The next step is to view and watch your image
scan, once it is complete, click next and choose
to publish, print, or do nothing - Click Next to
see the location of the image on your computer

Then Click FINISH

Hope this helps you to scan documents and old
timeshare vacation pictures into your computer.

I know some of the names are different on
the newer Version of Windows 10 but the
process should be about the same.

If you have an iPhone, you can buy the APP Scanner Pro and it makes awesome PDF's. You can do multiple pages in the same PDF. Then send it to your email address and download to your computer. I have used this quite a lot over the past few years.

On Friday, I downloaded Adobe Scan to my iPhone and have used it on a couple of documents. My iPhone came with a Files app, and the scans can be accessed from there. Unsure how useful this will be, but with practice I may get to rely on it.
