We've decided to sell our Marriott Harbour Pointe week, which is an annual use week 26 (July 4), Unit 420 (larger B sized unit). We've been trying to contact timeshare resale brokers on Hilton Head, but have not even received callbacks from any of them. Has anyone had experience using the resale brokers on Hilton Head that they could share?

Should I be using Redweek to sell and if so, how painful is it? Any other suggestions on where/how to sell it?

Redweek also has a staff of brokers and they offer a full service option in addition to the do-it-yourself option. We are buying a Hawaii unit through Redweek full-service right now, and it has been very smooth. Good communication from the brokers and the title/escrow company.

Also consider these brokers used often by TUGgers:

https://www.sellingtimeshares.net
http://magicalrealty.com
https://www.timesharebrokersales.com

There are also others that many TUGgers have bought/sold through.

Can you find the deed that you were given back then??? If so, my deed showed the actual unit number in the building so you can locate what type of view that was. I purchased the four Marriotts at Hilton Head Island; two Grande Ocean, Surfwatch, and a Barony Beach. I can go to the county website for Beaufurt County and locate current sales. So, you might try that for your Orlando units to see what the legal description states about your unit. I will post a legal description showing what I mean when I find that old post. Patrick
MGO Owners Assoc. sale to Marriott

Here is the deed number to research the sale of 3 MGO silver weeks for $10K:

go to the website for Beaufort County, SC register of deeds and insert these numbers:
R550, 018, 000, 0069, 8913, 25
you have to put in the comma and the space in order to be successful

You should see the transfer of three silver weeks, 8416-S-10, 8643-S-10 and 8732-S-48.

The first is unit 6 on the first floor, (i.e., 16) in Building 84 (Sea Horse). Because of the way that Sea Horse slants, it is considered an ocean front rather than a gardenview (which used to be called ocean view when MARRIOTT was trying to sell them new!).

The point is that you can find out what the most recent sale of a Marriott timeshare is on Hilton Head Island, SC, the attorney preparing the deed, and what the unit just sold for. I assume that you can do that in any other state and county as well once you find the official recording site for those Marriotts. Also, the brokers that were used and which one seems to be having the best sales result. If not shown, then call the attorney's office that prepared the deed.

Just a thought. Patrick

I sold my week 32 right here on TUG! I priced it fairly and it went quick.

I bought my current week 26 (B-Unit 313) unit on Redweek. The seller used Redweek's sales service and it all went well.

Glad someone has had a good experience with RW full service. That has NOT been my experience. Two weeks previously purchased using full service - they had no idea what they were really selling or how the system worked. I had to hold their hand through the entire process. Swore I would NEVER use full service again.

Stupid me, found another week I really wanted, guess what? Redweek full service. Am in the finalization of the contract right now. Horrible communication, took literally DAYS for each simple back/n/forth. I received an email from the 'broker' and replied back within 5 minutes, very simple Q/A thing. Didn't give me the answer until 25 HOURS later!

Bought a week at the same resort last year direct from a seller, it took 3 weeks start to finish. Anticipate this will not be in my name for 90 plus days.

What could have been done in twenty minutes on the phone has taken 12 days. Broker refuses to give phone and email contact, only the general email of support@Redweek.com. What we agreed to by email, NONE of it was in the docusign I just received tonight (except the purchase price).

If there was ANY other listing out there with what I want, I would dump this purchase in a heartbeat.
