Simple Overview of Hyatt Residence Club

Can someone provide a simple overview of how Hyatt Residence Club works? For example, what are CUP vs LCUP and what does it stand for? How soon in advance do you need to reserve your week? How does banking work? If you don;t use your week, do you need to decide where to exchange it or how long do you have to decide? How much in advance can you book at a different Hyatt resort?

Here are two simple overviews, the 2015 Developer Kit version (has a nice diagram on the third page) and 2017 Resale Kit version (I snipped off the pages that weren't relevant). Please ask if there's something not answered in there.

Any new resale should (?) be getting a Resale Kit for Legacy Owners CD in the mail too.
