Debating between Mountainside Stowe or MT Tremblant CA for summer activities. We wanted a cute town, hiking, ziplines, fun atmosphere for our teens. We have been to Smuggs--loved it but want more of a town atmosphere and Lincoln NH, liked this a lot, but want to try a different place. DD wants to go back to
Montreal, so we are already going to be driving that way. Are these areas similar? thanks, Elaine

Mountainside has lots of stairs, lots no elevator either. Eagles at Sugarbush is in Warren VT. Is close to town. There is Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe. I don’t know about Mt. Tremblant, CA.
I will write a review of Smuggs after my vacation.

I have RCI. Stairs are fine. I did not see Trapp in RCI.

Mountainside has had recent updates. May be a step above Village Green at Stowe unless it too has had recent updates. When we stayed at Village Green, the mattresses were hard and uncomfortable. OTOH, maintenance at Mountainside left a lot to be desired.
Can't comment on Mont Tremblant.

Mont Tremblant is one of the best resorts on the East coast both in the summer and winter. In the summer you have so many things to choose from: hiking, luge, zip-lining, white water rafting, canoeing on the Red River. If you are into biking, le Petit Train du Nord (Little Train of the North) is a 130 mile trail built on an old railway line so it is relatively flat.

I live about 1.5 hours from Stowe and 2 hours from Mont-Tremblant. I have day-tripped at both but never stayed overnight. We own at Smuggs.

Mont-Tremblant is a master-plan resort designed and built by Intrawest (but now owned by Aspen Skiing Co.). As others have said, lots to do (and most of it on foot because so much is at the foot of the mountain...). But if you are looking to reserve through RCI, I believe what is normally available there is NOT in the pedestrian village but rather in the actual town of Mont-Tremblant, several miles away, so you'll need your car (but there is ample parking at the ski resort...).

Stowe is a genuine ski town, so more spread out (less Disney-esque). You will definitely need your car. The Stowe Bike Path is a real gem and there is lots of other stuff to do as well.

It would also depend on when you are thinking of going (what week/month)...

I hope this helps.

Cheers!

Thank you. We had an rci unit on hold but the reviews and location were not good. So, We decided that we would stay at Hilton or Marriott resort onsite.
Planning for mid-late July. Older teens who would want to bike, hike, high ropes course.
I think it’s now between smugglers notch with day trip to Montreal and mt t.

I have been to both Smuggs and Mt Tremblant, but neither in the peak of summer. Between the two though I would probably pick Tremblant for activities and vibe.

Check out the Tremblant tourism site https://mont-tremblant.ca/en for activities and recreation. The blues festival there pulls in some really great talent; July 6-15 this year. Open air concerts that often revert to jam sessions in the local restaurants/bars.

BTW - early or late teens? Drinking age in QC is 18.
