We're going to fly into Ft. Myers to visit friends in Naples (and have a beach vacation) on April 3 - 7. I know getting a timeshare in SW Florida that time of year is tough, so we are looking at hotels. Prob is, we don't know which areas to stay in. Can someone familiar with the area give me an idea? It appears that Ft. Myers is drastically less expensive than naples. We don't care if it's a 5 star hotel. We don't want to stay in a dump, and we'd like to be in a nice area on or near a nice beach. Compounding the confusion is the large number of nearby beaches; Marcos Isl., Captiva, Shell, Bonita Springs, etc. Where to start?

I live in Naples and used to live on Marco and can probably help you out. How far do you want to be from your friends and what part of Naples do they live in?

Those beaches are pretty far apart, compounded by traffic.
Not near a beach but I recall someone telling me they stayed at embassy suites at exit 123, Corkscrew rd, and got a hot breakfast and evening drinks and appetizers
But you probably would prefer to be near the beach. If you are visiting people in Naples, I would not stay in Marco, Sanibel, Captiva, and probably fort Myers beach also.

Naples North...moderate prices, near US 41 & Bonita Beach Rd:
<> Hampton Inn <> Holiday Inn Express <> Baymont Inn
<> La Quinta Inn (a little further South on US 41).

Closer to Naples, but pricey: <> DoubleTree <> Hilton.

A a bit East of Naples... also moderate, at I-75 and Collier Blvd...
<> Fairfield Inn <> Comfort Inn <> Holiday Inn Express <> La Quinta.
