The Middle East is famed for its luxurious offerings for tourists but new research has revealed that the best-value airport lounge in the world is found in glamorous emirate state Abu Dhabi.

Topping a list of the top 20 most affordable airport lounges compiled by travel website Netflights, the Al Ghazal Lounge by Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal 2 of Abu Dhabi International Airport costs visitors just £21.45.

When compared to the £58.77 the average traveller spends on food, hot drinks and alcohol at airports before they fly, it proves a real bargain. Other research found that 87 per cent of travellers have never booked into an airport lounge and when looking at the reasons, almost half (47 per cent) said they believe lounges are too expensive...."

I can vouch for the lounge in Terminal 3 at McCarran in Las Vegas. We fly Alaska Airlines, which is located in that terminal, and always try to arrive early enough to relax in the lounge and have breakfast. They also have an open bar, although we don’t partake during the early morning hours. We have access via Priority Pass.
