Royal Solaris San Jose del Cabo
We just spent a week at Royal Solaris (Mandatory AI) in San Jose del Cabo. We had a great time. We are now at Club Regina/Raintree Vacation Club. It is next to the Westin/Vistana on the Corridor. They offer an AI option for only $65 per person per day.

We have been sitting on our Patio for the last 90 minutes watching the Whales. For the Final Act the Mother Whale and Calf Breeched/Broached (?) Five times and then Mom did some tail slapping.

Saw the same thing exactly in Puerto Vallarta two weeks ago. I had heard they create bubble columns which trap their food. Has anyone also heard of that?

I'm pretty sure the ocean water near Puerto Vallarta is as warm if not warmer than Maui. Warm water doesn't create a nutrient rich food source for the whales. At least that's what I was told in Maui. The whales don't eat during their sojourn into warm water. So not sure if you can "see" them create bubble columns.

This is correct as I understand it as well. The whales tend to only feed during the summer in Alaska. They come to Hawaii to mate and give birth. The bubble columns can only be seen in Alaska and other whale feeding grounds.
