Trying to pay maintenance fees by credit card

Do you mean that they wanted you to pay future unbilled MF's?
If it was the 2015 MF's that were due, the 2016 MF's would not have been billed yet.

I was able to borrow some 2018-points on 10/28, after billing and before payment.

Sorry, got a horrible cold and hopped up on all sorts of drugs.

So to give an example:
I've used all 2017 and 2018 points.
I don't pay my 2018 MF points when they're due (but still within the 45 day "grace period")
I wait until January 3rd 2018, and go online and tried to book a stay in 2018 with 2019 points.
System wouldn't let me

(again, using "this years" to keep things more simplified).

This was I think in 2014/2015 that I'd last done this, and obviously with the older system.
It is entirely possible the new system will happily let you do this (I know i"ve borrowed 2019 points already), but when I had called the CSR at the time to inquire why I couldn't book the 2018 stay, I was told it was because the current date was in the "new year" and I hadn't paid that years MF yet.

Within 24 hours of me paying the MF, the system let me book.

Phew ... glad it's not just me ... I'm seeing exactly the same behavior.

With HGV's customer service being closed, I spent a half hour on the phone with my credit card company yesterday, but they say no charges were being attempted.
Is anyone else having technical difficulties with their credit card payment screen advancing while paying the maintenance fee? After I type in my credit card information and press "continue" nothing happens. I have tried two different computers, and on each one two different browsers.

Are there currently any known issues?

Edit: all is well today ... I was able to pay my fees.
