Does anyone own a float unit at Waterside? How hard is it to get a summer week? How far in advance do you have to book to get the week you want?

Thanks!

You have to make a request at midnight 360 days (I think it is 360 days) before the check-in date you want. There is a form to use on the Spinnaker.com website in the Owners website under Reservations. The maintenance fee for the next year has to be paid to make the request. The same week cannot be requested every year. You have to wait 2 years to get the same week again. If you follow all the instructions, you can get the week you request.

Are you required to reserve 360 days in advance, or you can reserve up tp 360 days in advance for best results? For instance, if I acquire a unit, and the transfer completes in November, would I be able to try to get a summer week or would that be impossible?

You are not required to reserve 360 days in advance. You can reserve up to 360 days in advance for best results. Chances for a reservation less than 360 days in advance would be better if you are flexible. If you own Spinnaker Flexible Ownership, you can request Egret Point, Southwind, and Waterside (not sure if there are any other resorts). Also, not sure if you can request more than one date.

I used to own there I always reserved 11-12 months in advance and never had any problems. I believe you put in your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice. While you can't reserve over the phone I believe you could call once you are an owner to find out what is available at that moment. If you happen to own a 1 BR you have no choice of location as Waterside is the only one with 1 BR units. The current owner may be able to call to get an idea about what is still available over the summer. I would imagine early June and mid to late August would still be available now and may be in November as well. One thing to keep in mind is owners can't reserve until they pay MF and no everyone pays their mf early.

Sorry, I don't have any experience with floating week but wanted to say we own a fixed, 3 bedroom August week, that we purchased resale about 13 years ago in the month of November and got a fabulous deal we think. We love Spinnaker. It is just a hang out, relaxing beach vacation where we go out to eat every night. Love it.
