Just finished with our owners' update at WLR in 25 min. We received 10,000 spg points and a bonus $50 resort credit. We're having terrible weather in Cancun right now, so my husband was willing to go. Originally, we were scheduled to go 2 days ago, but they called to ask us to reschedule, as they were overbooked. They apologized and offered the additional $50 credit to reschedule to today (the weather is even worse today).

The person we met with was not from sales--they're apparently overbooked again. She offered us an Explorer package for 6 nights at WLR + 70,000 spg points. Her pitch was to lock in current SO pricing (36 cents per EY SO or 41 cents per EOY SO) with the Explorer package, while waiting to see what shakes out with the Marriott/ILG merger. We declined, and she released us. It was all very pleasant.

Looking forward to improved weather later tomorrow!

Good story! Lagunamar is one of those places where we will always sign up for the update, because they are so easy. If you read the thread about Vistana Villages and the Vistana Resort you know that is one place to avoid the update.

What was the price of the explorer package offered? We are going in Aug. Are you a Lagunamar owner?

I meant to include that. I think it was 2495 + about a $200 processing fee. Yes, we're Lagunamar owners.

We would most likely do an update for 10,000 SPG pts but seeing as we own at Kierland not sure we will get the same offer.

We got back last night from our 8 day vacation. The rain started Tuesday afternoon and did not let up the rest of the week. We decided against going on the owners update, even after they called and upped the "package" for attending.....$150 resort credit, 15000 spg points and voucher for the breakfast buffet.
