Hi everyone!

I grew up going to Vistana Resort in Orlando every December with my parents/siblings. Now that I have a family of my own, my husband & I would like to purchase so we’re not limited to getaways & years my siblings don’t have dibs. We live in PA & have a 22, 10 & 2 yo. The 22yo will likely stop vacationing with us soon as he’s graduated college & grown up on us.

1) Is there a vacation destination you wish to visit most of the time or on a regular basis? if so where? We visit Disney yearly, but would like to alternate with Disneyland if possible.

2) Do you want to visit your home resort at least half the time, or do you want to trade more than half the time? Trade.

3) What are your 5 top trade destinations? Southern California, Caribbean, Europe, Mediterranean, Hawaii

4) How many people do you usually travel with? 5, two adults & 3 kids

5) Can you travel any time, or are you locked into the school schedule? We homeschool & work from home, so we can travel anytime.

6) Can you make firm plans 12 or more mos. in advance? Yes!

7) Can you vacation for a full week at a time? Or two! We usually travel for 2-4 weeks total each year.

8) What level of accommodations do you prefer on a scale of 1 to 5 stars?3-5

9) How much can you afford to spend upfront, without financing? $5k

10) How much can you afford to spend every year for a maintenance fee that will come due right after Christmas, and increase each year? $1500

11) Are you a detail oriented planner? Very.

12) Do you understand that once you buy a timeshare, it may be very difficult to sell or give away, and you are responsible for all fees, until you do? Yes.

My recommendation would be to get a Gold week at Marriott's Newport Coast Villas. You could use your home unit on the years you wanted to visit Southern California. If your reserved the right week, it should also be able to trade into pretty much any Marriott property - especially with your flexibility. And there are Marriotts in most of your desired trade locations. For your Orlando visits, I'd recommend just renting Getaways there through Interval International. You can get weeks in 2 BR units at the nicest Marriotts in Orlando for under $500 in offseason.
