When an Ongoing search matches (II)and eplus question

I thought that when an ongoing search matches in II I had up to the close of business that day to call II and decline the match, but when my ongoing search matched (and I had neglected to update the request when my plans changed), the agent told me this was not the case. She did make a one-time exception, but I would like to understand for next time.

Also, I have an exchange booked using Hyatt points for March to Cabo, purchased eplus, but would prefer to go to Phoenix. If I set up an ongoing search for the dates I need in Phoenix uses some new Hyatt points and it matches, can I call II and have them switch the new exchange to my eplus-eligible week. Or does that also violate the rules around an ongoing search that matched?

I'm pretty sure you have 24 hours to cancel an exchange.

Eplus only works with manual searches. You would not be able to book your desires week with another deposit and then simply switch it over to the Eplus week.

Unless Hyatt's rules are different you have 24 hrs from the time the match was made. Since many ongoing searches match around 3am the usually means close of business same day or you can reply to the email within 24 hrs. Usually when they give you a one time exception it is because you missed the 24 hr grace period.

Which resorts in Phoenix are you aiming for? Phoenix in March will not be easy, but there may be something last minute.

Ideally one of the nicer resorts... We only need a studio, and I am guessing there will be some last minute availability.

Orange Tree ( OTE) has 3/7 1 br right now.
I have not spotted March dates at the Marriott, Westin, or Four Seasons yet.
