Any thoughts? It’s just my wife and I. We are beach lovers so which one is better?

Just you and your wife and you are beach focused, I would vote Ocean Club. Ocean Club has more ocean frontage (wider) so seems less chaotic on the beach.

Because of the narrower footprint, Surf club increased beach away from the ocean (deeper) in order to pack all the palapas in that they could, so it gets a bit nuts. That said, if you had kids and were more pool focused, Surf Club would get the nod because of the lazy river.

Fasttr is exactly right- no kids- definitely Ocean Club. Surf Club is busy with lots of kids!

Unless you're an adult that loves the lazy river at the Surf Club.
There's lots of differences of opinions on this, but I prefer the SC even when not with the kids/grandkids. I recently had a friend who's traded into the SC before get a getaway at the OC, and she mentioned liking the SC better, and it was just 2 couples.

Me too. We’re always adults only, but love the lazy river. When I stayed at the Ocean Club a few years ago, I said never again. I was bored because I'm not a swimmer. The lazy river is relaxing for me. I’ve been going to the Surf Club since 2012. Last year we went in August as opposed to May, and found that timing to be too busy. The best timing is when most children are still in school.

My husband and I like the Ocean Club because it's quieter. We are usually there early January - when most young kids are back at school, so its college kids and small children. The lazy river at the surf club is nice, but when we are there alone - the quiet is so relaxing! But it's a really personal choice - depending on what appeals to you. Aruba is our happy place. This year we did a 5 day trip stayed at the hotel.

We stayed at the Marriott Surf Club and enjoyed the lazy river; really like the Surfclub! Have stayed at the Marriott Aruba a few times, really enjoy it. Love the beaches in Aruba! We prefer to go in May as well before any kids get out. Have gone in August when our kids were younger and it is quite crowded.

I have a kid and she prefers the OC because it isn't so chaotic.

We try to stay at the Ocean Club, the surf club is too crowded, I do miss the lazy river, but the trade off is worth it to us.
