Williamsburg in late September/early October--can I wait for Last Call?

We have RCI Points, and are thinking about possibly going to Williamsburg in late September/early October. I've see on TUG that Williamsburg has a lot of timeshare inventory, but we don't know if that particular time frame has tons of timeshare availability or not.

We would need a very clean 2-bedroom unit, but we don't necessarily need "top of the line" furniture/amenities. Can we get that with RCI Last Call or an RCI Extra Vacation sale for Williamsburg for late September/early October? Or should I exchange with my RCI Points sooner?

Thanks for any thoughts and help!

I cant help you with the availability question, but check for extra charges before you book. Your time choice may be great as far as the weather goes.

A few in S and VA, a single resort in NC, MD, PA, and UT, plus Jamaica and the Bahamas
I think you would be fine waiting for a last call if you are open to the 5-6 weeks period. Also keep an eye out for sales on Extra vacations before that time.
Diamond has a daily fee of somewhere between $6-10. (Powhattan and Greenspring), Wyndham Kingsgate has a $6 per day resort fee. The Colonies and Williamsburg Plantation have a $25 per week resort fee. I don't think the others have any resort fees.

My sense is that you can wait for the sales. It's been a while but I got a 2 BR Patriot's Place, check in of 10/11/14, for $223 during an RCI sale. I also had in my notes there was a Buy One Get One sale for Kingsgate and another week/place in October of 2014, this would be $349 for two weeks. This was either through RCI or it's affiliate, Armed Forces Vacation Club.
Williamsburg is a very easy match to get and since you have RCI points, you will probably find a good selection for the 10K points or less Instant Exchange.

We stayed at Kingsgate on an Extra Vacation sale one time in late October for W&M homecoming. Keep an eye out for when they have sales on Extra Vacations because the prices can be almost as low as Last Call but you can typically book 3-4 months in advance which is good for planning and peace of mind.

Actually, I just pulled up my confirmation and I was able to book that on sale in June for late October. So start looking at the dates for the EV sales around that time.
