We just spent a week at Long Beach WA. It is right on the Beach. You can drive on the Beach for probably 20+ miles. The Rooms were nice and spacious. The Staff was very helpful and friendly. The "Parking Pass" folks were not pushy. We negotiated for $100 Gift Certificates at Shelburne Inn. A great restaurant. We had the fixed price dinner. You get a choice of a Beginner, Main Course, and Dessert. The price works out so that basically the dessert was free.
We also ate at Castaways. Good Fish and Chips. The pieces of Cod were Hugh. Patti ate the Youth 2 piece and it almost more than she could eat. They accidently gave me a 4 piece. I had ordered and paid for a 3 piece. I forced myself to eat all 4 pieces.
We also ate at Lost Roo. It is basically a nice Sports Bar. Patti ordered the Fish Tacos. Dinner came with 3 Tacos. The pieces of Fish were so big Patti had to cut them in half to eat the Taco. She took 1 Fish Taco back to the Resort, which was my breakfast. I had the Fish and Chips. They were very good, probably better than Castaways. Thursday Nights is their Prime Rib night.
The Sales Staff was also not pushy. We explained we were not interested in upgrading. They made an offer. We made a counter offer. Then we talked about where we have traveled and the Salesman talked about where he had traveled.
We were there for part of the Cranberry Harvest. We spent 1 day touring the Museum in Iiwaco and took the Trolley to the WSU Research Cranberry Farm and Museum. Because it was Cranberry Festival (low key) the Museum at the WSU Research Museum was serving (catered) various Lunches and desserts with Cranberry. We spent part of a day exploring Oysterville and talking to some of the residents.
You are only 20 miles from Astoria. We spent a day there after eating Breakfast at the Columbian Cafe (cash or checks only).
There is a Costco (with gas station) and Fred Meyer a few miles south of Astoria in the Warrenton area.
Patti for the first time in her life saw the Green Flash at Sunset. It was the 2nd time for me. There is a paved trail (Discovery Trail) for walking and bicycles that runs just behind the dunes from Cape Disappointment to 26th NW in north Long Beach. We walkeed about 2 miles of it.
