Wyndham - contract reinstatement after rescission

I have been an owner with Wyndham for about 15 years. I recently rescinded a contract that would have increased the number of points I own. Wyndham properly rescinded the new contract and refunded all related charges. In a letter dated October 5th Wyndham confirmed that the rescission action was completed. Those actions were done quickly and efficiently.

However, Wyndham failed to reinstate my original contract. I discovered this when I looked online at my point status and saw that this year's points are negative and no points are showing for the next use year. I contacted Wyndham on October 13th and notified them of the problem -- the customer service rep confirmed that the original contract was not reinstated. Since October 13th I have been in contact with multiple Wyndham "Owner Care" department individuals and still the issue is not resolved. The latest gentleman notified me that the issue has been sent to auditing because the current use year is negative. Of course it's negative -- it's negative by exactly the number of points used this year when the original contract was in place (prior to the rescission action). Has anyone had a this or a similar problem? If so, how did you deal with it?

Nothing surprises me with Wyndham these days. Are you still paying monthly maintenance fees?

My recommendation is to keep calling and talking to people. My experience with Shell is that once you finally get to someone that really understands the issue it can get resolved fairly quickly but you go through a lot of folks that "don't get it".

Your situation is not an everyday occurrence so not going to be something they deal with much.

Thanks for the reply -- yes, still paying maintenance points. I pointed that out in one of my many emails; no acknowledgement of that from Wyndham.

Although it took a while, Wyndham did fully correct my account and did compensate me for part of the maintenance fees incurred while the current year use points were unavailable. They made this right, and I was very pleased with the responsiveness of the organization when the issue was raised to someone who could analyze and fix it.

Since it only took a month to unscrew this, maybe there's hope for some of the rest of us.

I've been trying to cancel (or get Wyndham to cancel) a January 2018 reservation since November 11th, only two days after your original post. My ticket may be only two days down in the pile!
