I had one reservation transaction remaining. The cancellation took one RT, then to book the new reservation I had to pay the fee.

You shouldn't have to use a reservation transaction to cancel. I canceled 2 reservations after all my RTs were used up and I didn't have to pay a fee.

You're correct. I forgot that I used an RT for a friend's vacation and that was my second RT. My mistake.

So then where else is there to stay?

I was looking at booking a MIA cruise and I need two nights. I'm rather fearful of the condition and might should just stay inland and drive early in the morning instead of staying local.
