Just received an OGS match for Four Seasons Villamoura for end of May. Since we will have a car and will be there a week, can you suggest reasonable day trips from the resort?

How is Four Seasons Villamoura? Any recent visits. Are the units up-to-date and renovated? How does it compare to Hilton Cascadas and Conrad Algarve? one week or two sufficient to see the area. We hike but do not golf.

Nice one, what did you deposit to get that exchange. It's on my list and I had been concerned it would never come up.
Not been there, sorry can't help with your specific questions.

This is probably the best date I have ever matched. The OGS is not terribly old. I own HGVC and will be depositing regular Club (not premium bHC) points from our Scotland ownership. Although I have not gotten peak July or August weeks, I have matched to this resort pre-covid in early October and March with old OGS date.

We have HGVC NYC on our ownership. Perhaps RCI hopes to get a trade for our property even though that is not what we are depositing. Not sure how the sausage is made between HGVC and RCI.

We stayed at Four Seasons Vilamoura for a week - my goodness, was it 15 years ago now? Lovely place, at least then. One of our favorite vacations.

You'll love the town of Vilamoura, though Four Seasons is just far enough from the marina (which is the center of activities), that it's a bit of a walk, but short enough that it seems indulgent to drive. IIRC, there's a little tram that runs around that can take you there. Loved the marina -- lots of wonderful restaurants lining the large marina berthing multi-million dollar yachts. Many of the restaurants are very reasonably priced, though of course not all. My profile picture is from one of those restaurants. Again, one of our favorite vacations.

It's very easy to drive the entire Algarve and back in one day, though you may want to take more time to take in all the quaint towns. Our favorite was the town of Lagos. If you drive out to the end of the peninsula, to an area called Ponta da Piedade, there are stairs that you can take down the limestone cliffs to the rocky area at the bottom. There, you'll find (assuming it's the same as when we went) an area that fishermen take their boats to give water tours to tourists for a reasonable fee. Ours was both funny and irreverent -- some of the rock formations have very bawdy local names. Loved it.

Or, you can take commercial boat tours of the entire coast, much of which is interesting rock formations in the limestone cliffs. There are boat tours leaving from many of the Algarve towns. But I doubt you'll get as colorful a narration as we experienced from the local fishermen.

Stayed here about 3 years ago and it was very nice..started remodeling units as well but very comfortable! Great location to go to Tavira, Loule market, Sagres, Faro.. so much to see and easy to drive. In one week you can see alot.

Here's the stairs down from Ponta da Piedade in Lagos. The blue umbrella is where someone directs traffic and radios the small boats to pick you up. What you see here is only a tiny portion of the intricate rock formations, caves, and arches.

Just a heads up that this resort is not affiliated with Four Seasons Hotels or Four Seasons Residence Club.
